Dr. Walter A. Quebedeaux - (1915 - 1976)
A devoted public servant, Dr. Quebedeaux worked 22 years for the people of Harris County as Director of Air
and Water Pollution Control Scientist, Lawyer and Pioneer in Environmental Protection. He labored hard and often
fought with powerful opposing interests to untangle and remedy problems caused by neglect of our natural resources.
He desired to cleanse the air and water for those yet to come. The work will last and his selfless determination in
pursuit of purpose should be an inspiration for those who follow in service to the public.
